Miss Earth South Africa 2009 is Chanel Grantham

07 June 09 -- Miss Earth South Africa 2009 in association with Consol 2009 crowned Chanel Grantham, 20 as its new queen in a dazzling gala event at Emperor's Palace, Johannesburg on Sat 6 June. Miss Air went to Cherise Biagio, Miss Water to Maxzell Lerm and Miss Fire to Mahlatse Mkhawana.
In Chanel's profile in the Miss Earth South Africa's website she said that, "I'm a fun-loving person with a passion for life and a goal of making a valuable contribution to our earth. I’m studying a BSc in Property Studies at University of Cape Town and my vision for the future is to develop property that answers to the "GO Green" international demands fighting against global warming. I believe (that) if your heart is in the right place, you can achieve anything! And you can do it in stilettos!"
Chanel is originally from Durban in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
There were 16 delegates that competed in the Miss Earth South Africa 2009 Beauty Pageant.
Miss Earth 2009 finals will be held on 25 October 2009.(WE)
