ME Philippines 2009: Beautiful Sisters

28 April 2009 -- One of the pre-pageant activities of Miss Earth Philippines 2009 delegates is to become elder sisters to the lil' ones, in the "Lil' Earth Angels 2009 Grand Finals" - the younger version of the beauty pageant. This was held at the Robinsons Galleria on 24 April at 3 pm.
The delegates were busy "fussing with their wards" during the event as Mr. Tony Santos, our photographer calls it particularly Misses Quezon City and Manila. This just shows how the ladies are also concerned about the younger generation being taught the value of environmental awareness.
Miss Earth 2008, Karla Henry in her bubbly self had fun chatting with these little delegates.
The talent competition of the younger sisters were impressive. The usual talents presented were singing and dancing. It is evident that Filipinos are really fond of singing that you will be surprised how young they are to develop this amazing talent. And this is the type presented by Ivy Yvonne Vivandor, a 10 year old girl from Cavite, who won the Li'l Earth Angel 2009 title. She demonstrated a powerful nice voice. Meanwhile, the representative from Australia who danced won the second place with a "Beauty for a Cause" title.
There were 6 finalists in the Lil' Earth Angels 2009 competition.
Miss Earth USA has a similar younger pageant through Teen Earth United States. This is good as these pageants communicate environmental awareness to the young generation and the planet can hope for helping hands to protect and develop the environment in the future especially when these pageants grow in participation. Other Miss Earth National Pageants can follow suit. Miss Bahamas Beauty Pageant is one particular pageant which can easily adapt it. A planet-wide version then can never be farfetched.
I am sure that Carousel Productions surprise themselves with the good karma they earn disseminating environmental messages through their pageants.
Included in the pageant are fashion show, production number and showing of beauty products of the sponsors performed by the Miss Earth Philippines 2009 delegates.
The event finished in the late afternoon and Mr. Tony was delighted seeing the cute little girls in Lil' Miss Earth Angels as a segment of the Miss Earth Philippines 2009.(WE)
