Special Report on Karla Henry
21 Mar. 09 -- Karla Henry's, the current Miss Earth, trip to Miami has created a new wave of interest on her.

Karla is on her fourth month of reign. She has been very busy in numerous environmental engagements in the Philippine local scene fulfilling her duties as spokesperson of Miss Earth Foundation, Inc. and also as an invited guest in various occasions.
Her latest engagement was as a guest reader of a children’s book 'Bakawan" (The Mangrove) authored by former Miss Earth Beauty Queens, in an event sponsored by Philippine daily newspaper Inquirer, which imparts environmental awareness to the young generation early on.
Karla is 23 years old and was born in Limay, Bataan; a Cebu-based fashion model having a Filipino-Canadian descent.
As delegate, during the Miss Earth 2008 Press Presentation on 28 Oct 2008 at the Traders Hotel, Karla was asked, “What are your chances of winning the much-coveted title of Ms. Earth 2008?” She wittingly answered, "1 out of 85. Just like the rest of the 85 other contestants." Luckily, the probability went to her favor. She said in the interview of Woman of the Earth that, “Educating the people is still the best way in order to protect and improve the environment.”

Karla can be on her way to Miami now. According to the Facebook of Noemi Melendez, Miss Cuba Org. National Director, “(I) can’t wait to receive Karla Henry ME '08 on Sunday in Miami!!!”
A new milestone of Miss Earth will unfold in the reign of Karla. She will grace the convergence of many pageants in the spirit of camaraderie for the sake of Mother Earth. She will be a special guest in the Green Fashion Miami on the 25th March. Her presence will make the occasion more prestigious as she represents the Pageant that holds this purpose.
