The 23-year-old brunette Izabela Wilczek is Miss Earth Poland 2009. She has a healthy body figure of 91-63-95 and she stands 177 cm tall. She will represent the Republic of Poland in the 2009 edition of Miss Earth beauty pageant. Poland is known as the most important breeding ground for European migratory birds.

She completed her secondary education in Pabianice and took up European Studies at the Technical University of Lodz. She had her internship at the Ministry of Finance in Poland. Izabela is a water aficionado. She loves to swim and explore the coral reef. “I love the water and I really enjoy swimming and exploring the beauty of water and the magnificent creatures underwater,” she says.  Her hobbies include reading and painting, mostly impressionistic.

She believes that “one of the biggest problems for women living in the twenty-first century is the misperception on body structure- the thinner you are the more beautiful you can be.”  Society affects how people perceive themselves, Body Image consciousness exists in our society. The perception of beauty has evolved. Renowned clothing brand ads feature gaunt, glassy-eyed models. The image, known as "heroin chic," becomes trendy in the ad industry.

Numerous people are persuaded by the media and the fashion industry. Both are equally accountable for the increased number of people suffering from eating disorders. Fashion industries have a propensity to only feature whose figures vary from eight to ten. Their androgynous ethereal figures are presented as representative of the everyday woman. In doing so the typical woman in the street is compelled to measure herself against an unrealistic ideal. “Lack of self-acceptance and the pressure exerted by the environment lead to serious illnesses such as anorexia and bulimia,” she adds.

When asked about her opinion about plastic surgeries, she states “I have nothing against the operations of art, but I am of the opinion that authentic beauty can be found in being natural.”

Izabela is well-prepared to embark upon the environmental problems concerning her country. Poland's environmental condition has progressed since the expulsion of its communist regime, which has been accompanied by diminished emphasis on heavy industry and boosted government awareness of environmental issues. Nonetheless, Poland has yet to recuperate from the overexploitation of forests during World War II and the loss of about 1.6 million hectares (4 million acres) of forestland after the war.

As of the mid-1990s, 75% of Poland's forests have been smashed up by airborne contaminants and acid rain. Pollution of the air, water, and land were the most remarkable environmental predicaments facing her country. Air pollution results from hazardous concentrations of airborne dust and chemicals including carbon dioxide, nitrogen compounds, fluorine, formaldehyde, ammonia, lead, and cadmium.

Poland is one of the world's sky-scraping levels of industrial carbon dioxide emissions in the mid-1990s, which totaled 341.8 million metric tons, a per capita level of 8.9 metric tons. In 1996, the total climbed to 356 million metric tons. Industry-related pollution affects predominantly the Katowice region, where dust and sulfur dioxide emissions surpass standard levels.

On the other side, water pollution in the Baltic Sea is 10 times higher than ocean water. Poland has 55 cu km of renewable water. Two percent is used to shore up farming and 64% is for industrial intentions. Poland's cities spawn an average of 5.7 million tons of solid waste per year. The country's wildlife has also suffered from deterioration of its habitats. As of 2001, 9.1% of Poland's total land area was sheltered. Ten mammal species were endangered. Six bird species and one type of plant are also threatened with annihilation. These environmental quandaries in her country will be presented in her participation in the Miss Earth 2009.
