Miss Earth Jamaica to select a rep for 2009 contest

Miss Earth Jamaica organisers recently announced that by August 28 they will reveal the result of the selection of a representative for Jamaica at the ninth staging of the Miss Earth competition which takes place in Manilia, Philippines, from October 18 to November 8.
The Miss Earth winner serves as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme and other environmental organisations. About 90 contestants from different countries and territories are expected to compete. At the conclusion of the competition, Miss Earth 2008, Karla Henry of the Philippines, will crown her successor.
KINGSTON, Jamaica – August 17, 2009 – Miss Earth JAMAICA has unveiled a new logo design. The new look and logo represent the direction MISS EARTH JAMAICA is moving and provides a unique and consistent voice to the pageant’s promotional efforts.
Miss Earth Jamaica’s Jannice Davis, National Director, spearheaded the process of creating the new look of the pageant enlisting Philippines-based Marvin Nuto to design the new logo.
